Nickels from the past week. Found a 1938d and s this week. The 1938s completed my book. Also had a couple of silver nickel Enders to add to my ender roll collection I’m saving for a rainy day. IMG_6520.jpeg IMG_6519.jpeg IMG_6518.jpeg IMG_6517.jpeg IMG_6516.jpeg

The coins I found in late November and all of December that got me back in the game. The v nickel is the best condition one I have ever found and came out of some rolls I’ve had for a few years collecting dust. IMG_6522.jpeg IMG_6521.jpeg IMG_6524.jpeg IMG_6525.jpeg

Another box of dimes AND another bust. I continue to come up empty finding silver unlike some of our members. My only noteworthy finds were four from the off mintage year of 2009.

My bank no longer sells me pennies. Their supply is well beyond short. Apparently they no longer receive supplies from Loomis. Last week I was able to swap twenty two rolls of mostly customer rolled pennies with them. The contents were surprising. Noteworthy finds were five wheat pennies, four dimes (all in one hand wrapped roll), a pretty 1974, and a 1974-S. Went to a branch of my bank and picked up $5.00 of rolled cents to search. Should be fun as half the tolls are machine wrapped and the rest are customer rolls.

Complete strike-out on silver unfortunately. But did get 21x 2026-D, the first I've seen of the new design (the first 2026 coins I've seen, period, for that matter). Love the new design btw, works really well on a dime I think.

Also got 2024-D x 12 and almost have a full roll of 2024-D now.

My latest nickel box was loaded with 2025 entries. I was able to find a low mintage 1951-S along with a well tarnished 1954-S. The other noteworthy finds were three from the off mintage year of 2024. The early decade count were two from the 1940s and four from the 1950s. IMG_4938.jpeg IMG_4941.jpeg IMG_4936.jpeg

I picked up a few rolls trolling for W's. Recently I was able to upgrade Ida B. Wells and Dr. Vera Rubin which will need further upgrading. I still haven't seen 1 Althea Gibson or 1 2026 but eventually I will, when they are all scratched.GF got me a few rolls yest and I saw a small die chip on the 2021 WC the Del hat, but it was so small I tossed it back. I was happy to pull this business strike 2016-S Shawnee. Anything else comes up and I will be back. 100_2713.JPG 100_2715.JPG

I have a number of "looks" at a W, but I wait until I have slammed all the quarters in the self serve at Wal Mart and other locations, before I look at them. I got 13 looks from her 3 rolls and I pulled an Acadia. I keep the low mintage Acadia, Chaco Canyon and El Yunque. In my rolls I have 11 looks as well as the S coin, 1 million minted, and 4 looks I got in change from self serve. I also pulled out a few really nice high AU coins that did not upgrade my album, but were too nice to throw back. Lots of shiny ones with luster in that first roll. I was hoping for some kind of a dump, but that was it. A couple years ago when we were pulling rolls, we must have hit a dump because I kept pulling later date S proof coins. Quite a few of them.
    And then it dried up.

Here's the looks. But it's nothing to get excited about because I have been constantly going 0-30, 0-40 ad infinitum, or I would have posted a find.
Next week I will pick up a few rolls as there is a branch of my CU across the street from my dental appt. I have been marking my non Ws when I toss them back into circulation to see how long before they come back in a roll. And while I have gotten a few from the self serves I use, I haven't gotten one in a roll. Not expecting a W because the math is against me. Most of them have already been pulled from circulation, and the minted TONS of P's and D's. Never gotten an S business strike or proof, or silver proof 2019, 2020.

I hate to say I basically got nothing, but I basically got nothing.

Did find 20x 2024-D. How much is that worth saving? Well they minted about 230 million of them, which is quite a bit less than the about 1.3 billion they minted in 2023, but not really rare on an absolute scale (for comparison's sake they minted about 49 million of 2009-D). I was always planning on saving a roll's worth and stopping there, and hey I now finished the roll, so that's something.

But nothing else I would find worth saving. No new dimes, no 2009, no silver, no foreign, no proof, etc. But hey there's always next box. Dimes take patience and you have to get through a few bad boxes to find the good ones.

Another nickel box loaded with 2025 entries BUT I managed to score three buffaloes out of my latest purchase. Other noteworthy finds were a 2009-D and a 2024-D. Besides the three buffaloes there were only three finds dated before 1960 (1956, 1957-D, and 1959-D. IMG_5042.jpeg IMG_5057.jpeg IMG_5059.jpeg
