    Me too. Especially when the brown turns out to be a million shades of brown, blue, purple, orange, and red. It seems coppers don’t go brown all at once, or uniformly.

    My only Walking Liberty worked hard for a living. Grandparents probably saved it after the Franklins came out.

    BU Franklins were $1.25-1.75 at the LCS when I picked up a few of them as a kid.

    Good morning. It is Wednesday, March 11th.

    Today our type is the Kennedy half Silver (1964).

    This refers of course to only the 90% silver coins from 1964. The Registry set lineup that we're using lumps all the later 40% silver coins in with the clads. It does not distinguish the 40% silver clads from the copper-nickel clads. But that's an issue we'll deal with tomorrow. Today is just the 1964 Kennedies.

    Confession: Kennedy halves bore me to tears. All I have on hand right now are some I got in bullion lots. Actually, I got the spotty one from a bank roll, for face value, so that's good, anyway. Might be the only time I got excited about a Kennedy half. LOL ;)

    For my all-time "best of type", I had to go look back at my 20th Century type set in the Registry archives from more than 20 years ago. Not that it's worth looking at, in this wretched image. My old flatbed scanner didn't handle proof mirrors very well.

    Aha. One from my giveaways. I was actually looking for a picture of that one. Since the CollecOnline site where I used to host my collections went defunct, I lost a lot of my archive of sold and given-away stuff. :(

    I found them so uninteresting that I don’t even have a picture of mine, and never noticed. Alas, my photo setup is not set up. I’ll see if I can take an iPhone photo or something. :rolleyes:
