Lucky find in an unusual place

I'm in the Black Hills for the weekend, While I was in Rapid City browsing coin and antique shops I found an emergency Hawaiian silver certificate.

Good thing if it is way off. Not so much in this case, however.

I like it but it looks like it has been to hell and back not once but twice

 

I was at my local coin show today and saw one in better shape. I'm still keeping this one though as a memento of my 50th birthday as that is the day I found it.

I agree it's a little rough looking. But then most things that survived World War Ii are.

 

They do pop up in the most unusual pieces.

Off center printed ones too . . . .
