Hi What you have is a Quarter Value.. 25 Cents What makes you think that it could be worth $50.00? The others are all 25 Cents in value also.
I know they have to be brand new, not scratched etc. The brand new ones are selling for a lot more on several different websites. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Hawaii...144201?hash=item465eea9b49:g:T0wAAOSw3v5YuEVC http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-5oz-Si...466063?hash=item41bf5dbe4f:g:niAAAMXQVERS07OV https://catalog.usmint.gov/america-...proof-set-16AQ.html?cgid=silver-coins#start=1
The ones shown on the US Mint website are silver. EBay.. Forget it. Anyone can put any price they desire! Also. That is a larger 5 ounce version. Quarters found in circulation - face value Sorry
Some of the quarters have lower mintages. Acadia, El Yunque, Chaco Culture, but it will be years before they are worth much to collectors. (maybe 50 cents a piece for the best condition ones). This whole quarter thing got millions of people interested in collecting, which is good. It also makes 90% of them think that the face value coins they have are worth more money, which they are not.
Yes, it's interesting and I love photography so having fun taking pictures and researching. I've just been watching you tube videos to learn alot. I've been reading information on pcgs.http://www.pcgs.com/whatiscoingrading and also http://www.parkquarters.com/quarter...tional-park-quarter-mintages/101455#more-1455. My friend and I have gone through about 5000 coins in the last 3 weeks, by exchanging at banks and local stores. We are hoping to find a treasure soon
Just FYI that I enjoy taking pics also! Taking pics of coins is tricky though, you'll need to practice having the coin far enough away from the lense so the coin isn't blurry. Also will need to move the coin at just the right angle so the light hits it just right. It took me a while and I had to delete a lot of pics until I got good at it, so hang in there!
jeez...why are you looking through 5000 coins when you clearly have no friggin idea what it is you are looking for? good luck with the photography...you'll need it.
A bit harsh, isn't it? Especially to a new member who is showing an interest in coin collecting and coin photography. @Kristine Welcome to the forum. Stick around, hopefully learn some things and, more than anything, enjoy the hobby!
I know lol I guess my sarcastic reply didn't get posted but I've learned a lot through the Redbooks at the library the last week - didn't realize pics were so blurry!
Kristine, welcome to CT! I do hope to see more pics and more finds you come across. Do not worry about bothering people on here either. I know a few years back when I found this site and seen all the members I posted what I now would consider ridiculous coins, but I didn't know. These members (most of them) were extremely polite about my lack of knowledge and freely passed there knowledge on to me. I wish you many fun fill coin searching hours of enjoyment!
I've been posting a lot of coins, and for the most part people have been patient with me, but I'm finding that, like with anything, with knowledge comes attitude. I think some people have forgotten how exciting it is when you're getting started to believe you've found something valuable. Some comments are very harsh. It really kind of hurts when you find comments about you in another forum. So, I won't be posting much....sadly. I wish there was a way to delete your threads. @Kristine I hope you find something very valuable, even if you're the only one it's of value to.
The 1992 LMC appears to be a WAM or Wide AM to me. Normal for this year. If the space Between the A & M looks close then you look at the FG. The CAM or Close AM has no Serifs on the FG while the WAM does. Your appears to have the Serifs making it a WAM. You can also look at the spacing of the A in States. But I usually go by the 2 markers above. Oh Yea forgot to say Welcome to CT!
I would say this, as it is what kept me going early on, take the good, and leave the bad. If you want to post coins, post them. This hobby has given me many enjoyable hours or research and learning. Yes I have thrown up some bombs of coins too, lol. If anyone is a true hobbyist, they will understand. I most certainly do. How else will we learn if not by making a few (sometimes more ) mistakes?
Thank you! I do have a question though; if not by posting on here, how do I find out if a coin I think may have an error actually may have an error? And if it is found that it actually may have an error, how do I get it validated?
