I have been going thru coins trying to figure out what should go into a slab, what should be sold raw, and what goes into rolls. This Jefferson I think is a candidate for a Gem + grade. The heavily polished matte looking surfaces make this one look more like a 50's proof than a bus strike. Another look at it. What do you think? Maybe Skip to conserve that spot?
It has an interesting look but financially does not appear worth grading. An MS 67 5FS sold recently on ebay for $56 plus shipping. Now if you have other items to send to ICG and are curious to see what happens, then the $10 "curiosity" fee (plus conservation, since that is extra) might be worth it.
PCGS has a population of 6 above MS66, thats not because of a lack of candidates. MS 66 has a pop of 65.
