We had a turkey hang out in and roost in my front yard for a couple of days. A bit odd for this deep into Suburbia.
I like that design @Dafydd I would buy a coin with that design. I am afraid though we wouldn't have a squirrel problem, we would have a turkey problem. Or, better yet they would be our beloved pets. Folks would be taking them for a walk every evening.
For Christ's sake, none. As much as I like the classic vintage, got to move on with the times. It's like beating a dead horse.
While I understand your sentiment, I don't really care much for the designs of the past fifty years (although the eagle landing on the moon on the reverse of the Eisenhower dollar is pretty nice, IMO). However, I do like the design choice for the 2026 dime.
Turkeys? Mean? We saw them mating in our yard and the male stood with his claws wrapped around the females head, pinning her to the ground so she couldn’t get away. Now that’s mean.
Turkeys you say? I counted 65 of them roosting near here a month ago. They've made a big comeback over the past 3-5 years. Not sure why. I prefer the golden eagle over the bald. More majestic and less of a scavenger. As far as coin designs to resurrect, the Walking Liberty is my favorite, but the design has been beat to death by the ASE program. Buffalo nickel is quintessential Americana so I'll vote for that one.
I sort of like the reverse on the Barber quarters. Not sure what lady Liberty would look like for the Obverse though.
