Anyone else here collect ribbon medals? I expanded into these from jetons and desk medals because I collect medals from events and many were produced with ribbons. It wasn't a problem when I was collecting them loose, but I've managed to find quite a few with the original ribbons intact, and I'm at a loss for how to display them.

    Any suggestions?

    Here's my collection so far:

The die splash I'm displaying elsewhere, but the other medals I was thinking it would be nice to have them in some sort of display case. It would be a big plus if I could also display the medals that are missing ribbons with them, but it's not necessary.

I have made display cases for military items. There is an air gap of about 3/4" between the lense and the fabric wrapped foam board, and a 1/2" or so gap behind the foam board to allow space for any fasteners. This is about 11" x 14" but could be made in just about any size.

I believe the display Bill used is called a shadow box. My Mom made one (hanging as opposed to free-standing) for my Dad's WWII medals. You can probably have one made at just about any frame shop.
