Here are my pre-1999 Washington quarter types. Since I’ve pretty much ignored most modern types in my recent collections, I had to go back to my ancient Registry 20th century type set from 25 years ago to fetch these. I did once have a PR70 DCAM clad quarter in an OGH, but have no pictures of it.

(Standard apologies apply for the images- these are from my flatbed scanner era.)

Good morning. It is Tuesday, March 3rd, so now we move into the half dollars.

Our type today is the Capped Bust half dollar, Lettered Edge (1807-1836).

I love Bust halves- in almost any condition. Who doesn't love a Bust half? (Crazy people, that's who!) [IMG]

Here is the one from my current collection, which I bought from @drddm on the Collectors Universe Buy/Sell/Trade forum back in March of 2023.

Though the coin above is a 15-point downgrade from my previous "best of type", I like the XF40 coin above more than the AU55 CAC (below) that I used to have, because of its subtle iridescent toning and the fact that it is an earlier date. Below is the previous coin (the AU55). I liked it OK, but it was just a little too white/dipped-looking for my taste, so I swapped it off. One day perhaps I will have a nicely toned AU. I don't know if a Mint State coin will ever be in the cards for me, due to budgetary limitations.

I might as well also show the "holey" example from my holed 19th century type set. It is O-112, R3, I'm told. I like that it has CircCam contrast.
