I am not home now, but I can post more later. Was there a particular area of interest for me to zoom in on or maybe just a picture of the front. I noticed lots of weird stuff on this, and you guys saw even more than I did. Thanks everyone for the extra insight.

Here are some more photos. Marks on belly of top horse are not raised, but sunken. So are probably after minting. 1736154434752.jpg 1736154127680.jpg 1736154814481.jpg

Unless my 3-d spatial relations are completely backwards and badly calibrated, a section of the die which is to leave raised relief section of the obverse of a coin, then striking the anvil die, would leave a raised relief on the anvil which would then leave an incuse or depressed image on the reverse of the subsequent coins struck.

I'm guessing LIBERTY, and I am aware that many see a die clash as producing the opposite results as to how I just described them.

It would seem to me that a die clash would produce the same results as a vice job.

Otherwise, the damage would not be able to be filed, ground or abraded. The dies would be destroyed.

Neat error coin. I wonder what it's worth.
