I was just wondering what the deal with the incused punched MM From the raised type was That I see on the newer Kennedy's ? Why did they do this?
I guess what I am saying is the Kennedy that looks like a person took a punch and put the MM in compared to the others through time that were carved in the die to give it a raised MM on the coins? Just wondering why they changed.
OK will do , The next time I get a couple boxes of halves I will find a few and post pics. Was just thinking about it yesterday and wondering why the changed the die's. It could be just Philly .
Maybe , LOL when your eye's see thousands of coins I guess they may do funny things. Maybe its just me Or from what you are saying it is just these old tired eye's.. If I run across any of these again I will have to get the Lupe out and see what I think I saw, Ha Ha.
I have frequent moments like, "OK, Dave, now you're hallucinating. Go do something else for a while." If you're not losing track of time and reality, you're not looking hard enough.
How about this? The coin that Dave posted above has a nice raised mint mark nice and clean. am I still imagining here saying without a pic that maybe some of the late 90's early 2000's maybe when struck it was like a sharp edge indented around the mint mark? Does that make any more sense?
So I was looking at a few coins I had here in the Dump pile and desided to take a pic of this 1982, It may be hard to see with my photo skills but what happened with thsi MM is it a die filled or PMD or ? Sorry still trying to learn everything.
