I picked this up today. I don't typically coin this sort of thing but it caught my eye. 20170305_145355.jpg

Nice coin. Krause says this about it:

"5 Kori coins were issued with reeded edges until 1928AD, which is when the security edge was introduced. Due to counterfeiting, the government recalled pieces and added lettering as a mark of authentication."

Are you sure it is genuine? I wouldn't have a clue.

I have no idea, truthfully. I just picked it up because it was cheap & caught my eye. It's definitely silver though. The dealer I got it from is knowledgeable & has an impeccable reputation but you know how that goes sometimes.

I have one of these, dated 1929, along with a 1 kori dated 1666. They are neat coins, does yours have the security edge or reeded edge?
