And let me add, FWIW, if I saw this coin listed in an auction I would not be suspicious of it. It looks good to me. But, again, I have basic knowledge of the issue and I'm just basing my opinion on the many denarii I've handled over the years.

Interesting. Maybe Doug was misreading something. I still think it looks off (but I don't collect these or handle them much).

Dude => you should probably take a breath, take a sip and go have a nap, my coin-friend

If you have a problem, then spend $50 and send it to David Sear (you're becoming a bit much)

... we like you and we're sorry that you're having relationship problems, but try not to be a pain and freak-out on your coin friends (that's bad form)

The rationale for me was the BMC footnote combined with what I perceived as the coin looking "off". But if it's a misreading then that's different. If the Roman collectors like it and it is a well documented type I would not worry too much.

Ummm, why won't you get a "professional" opinion? ... is your coin not worth the extra investment?

... surprisingly, having a David Sear authenticity certificate might actually be worth the $50 when it comes time to sell? (maybe not?)

    ... I'm just sayin'
