After a lot of googling, I finally got my hands on a Dansco Type Set. I bought it for 35 dollars on a small coin shop's site. It's a pretty good deal since they are going for $60+ on eBay and Amazon. So my journey to fill up this set begins. It will probably take me a year or more, but this will be a fun project.
I had three of the 7070's, last one I sold had the gold page and I got $110 for it on Ebay. I only got rid of them because if they did start making them again the price would probably drop. But all Dansco books have gone up in price it seems.
Great project. I'm about 2/3 of the way through mine and I like exploring the various coins I don't know much about. For me the most challenging part is getting an even look to the collection. I like a circulated cameo look with in the VF to XF range. I've found that if I dip far below the VF range too many details are missing from the design for the coin to represent the type well.
I bought one before I went to all PCGS slabs, cost me a pretty penny to get a brand new 7070 album, with gold page and slipcase. Think I paid 120 for everything, but I WILL NOT be selling that album. In time it will be worth money itself as they seem to be becoming harder and harder to find. Good price you got yours for ~!
