Got the New Dime! Post your Sesquicentennial coins.

I really like the Phrygian cap. Notice the flat spot on the top of the eagles left wing. I wonder how many will be found in Circ. I imagine these will be hoarded.

 

Well, I'm certainly going to be hoarding at least some of them.

That obverse portrait is one of the finest I've seen on any coin, and certainly the best design of any US dime. In my opinion, of course. (Which is correct, of course. )

 

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these. Reminds me of a Mercury dime, which is my favorite dime design.

I really like the design. Liberty has a nice smile on her face. It's cool to have a pretty lady back on our coinage.

 

This marks the first time the mint as put an eagle in a dime since 1837.

 

Is this a one time one off design? If not, it's a big upgrade.

I agree, nice to have Liberty back! And I like the depiction of the eagle on the reverse. The only thing I might have changed would be some of the fonts. But otherwise, it's a well-done design.

 

I am on the lookout now! I just hope they keep this design, best change in my lifetime in my opinion.

 

I think the Mint has explicitly stated that this is a one-year-only design. More's the pity.

I do wish the eagle were holding an olive branch instead of arrows, but this is the timeline we're stuck in.

 

...aaand I think I may have just spent a little too long looking at that reverse image. Because now all I can see is the eagle looking down at the flying EC, pulling its right claw away. "Ewww! Where did that come from? Get away from me!"
