    woot :D:D:D:p:kiss::kiss::kiss:
    The "ghost" of the T is there, but the letter "fell off" !

    Other things I saw: Thought there was doubling of the letters but i only found notches in them. Am I right?
    What's the name of this error?

    i'm egg-static! :yack::joyful::joyful::kiss::kiss::kiss:

    You have found the famous IN GOD WE RUST Quarter. We have seen a few of these here on CoinTalk
    It did not fall off. What happens is that the Die used to strike the Blank Planchet gets filled with debris sometimes in certain areas. This time it was the letter T.
    So when the Die strikes the Planchet the letter T is not fully formed.
    Very minor error.

    Yes, you found a rusty God quarter, but don't think about retirement just yet. Some people do collect such oddities, but you won't find it listed in any error book.

    Unfortunately, the "notches" you see on some of the letters are just minor nicks and not doubling.

    Keep looking!

    yeah...i keep imagining serifs in some of the apparent DDOs and DDRs but they are quite hidden in this one...couldn't even imagine them :p

    it's ok if this first coin is not the 1909 famous penny...finding one gives me hope i'm not totally lost at what I'm doing

    And you can bet on it..i keep looking! :) TYTY

    Here is just one example of what split serifs might look like.

    That particular image is from a Kennedy half dollar and is easily visible at 10x.
