From an ancient PCGS Registry type set I had about 25 years ago. (I used a flatbed scanner for images back then.)
My daughter's husband joined the Air Force a few years ago and they moved to Whitman AF base in Missouri, and she had to do a major purge. She had some coins her mother's father had left her, and I bought them well over value to help them out. Fast forward to now - I have been migrating my collection from older Whitman folders to Dansco's, and upgrading with newer acquisitions where applicable. Going through some of her quarters I found this very nice 1969-D. The toning is much stronger in hand. I would put the grade at XF45 to AU53 - any thoughts on that?
I’m in the XF camp on that one, though I do agree that it has remarkably nice toning for a clad coin. Normally I’d call an XF-ish 1969-D quarter a “spender”, but that one’s a “keeper”. Just because… why not?
