It's been raining all day here in central Missouri. Can't do anything outside, so this afternoon my 7-year-old son and I sat down at the kitchen table armed with magnifying glasses and a big box of random world coins. We've had a lot of fun going through them, sorting them out, and finding unusual ones. It's mostly UK coinage but with a smattering of other countries too. Nothing special or valuable. Dates range from early 1700's to the present. This colorful little 1974 "New Penny" caught my eye, so I took some photos just for fun. Anyone else enjoy doing this? What are some of your "rainy day" coin finds?
