Here's the one I use and I also use another stand for it . http://plugable.com/products/usb2-micro-250x/
Cool and I can help out with the questions, about the product too .. When your all setup, let me know and I'll show you how to make a templet .
That is a very crisp and well stricken penny. Do you know if it resulted from multiple strikes or single squeeze? Class 9 "varieties" as I understand them are seemingly attributed to "God only knows". Seems logical to me that for the single squeeze errors or variety there are a handful of very likely causes. Mint workers with a sense of humor or having smoked too much lunch probably shouldn't be over-looked for some of the "Class 9's" I've seen.
The specs on the scope in the link you posted say it has a 2MP card. What size pix files does it produce? I am pretty sure the maximum image upload size here is 2MP and when I've uploaded pix 4MP or even much larger, the upload software simply compresses them. Does VLC software do just video handling or still images too?
Hey Rick Just received the scope in the mail. I haven't done anything with it yet. Do you have any setup suggestions before I get started?
Make sure you download the program from the link I posted . Then let's make sure everything works in the program . Then we can get started taking images and make a templet to put the coins on ..
It always open in 640x480 . Here's the list of image sizes: 160x120, 176x144, 320x240, 352x288, 640x480, 800x600, 1280x720, 1600x1200 . It also does video too, but I've never tried it . The scope also has a zoom, which goes to 10 zoom ..
I know more when the fun show comes next month, I'll be with the Coneca boys, as usually .. I went on copercoins site and some are class 4 and the others are class 9 . Wexler doesn't list classes on theirs ...
I don't care what date a penny is, anything like that I find, is put in a flip and given a very careful inspection. Error, variety or not. That is an excellent penny. Good luck with it. With regards to the image sizes from your scope, why is it you were having to "resize", presumably make smaller, its images to upload them here? That doesn't reconcile in my addled mind.
