Deeply toned coins can be hard to grade IMO.

Nice clashing. Is that common within the series?

It is! Same with 3 cent nickels.

Heck, there's as much of the reverse on the obverse as in the right spot. :)

    AU58 was my 1st notion.....
If i ever add one of these to my collection, it will be a heavily clashed type2 or 3 no doubt.

Great clash! It looks like a weak strike 62/63. Darkly toned coins are tough to grade. I have a MS63 Morgan that's very dark, and not only are the surfaces somewhat obscured, but there's some vivid red and green colors that remain hidden until you hold it in direct light.

It is, to the extent where it's notable to find one without clashes.

As for the grade, mail me the coin with the label covered up and I'll get back to you. ;) I couldn't even hazard a guess without getting it under my light.

I think it is a slider, with a really crisp clash.
