It's different than the famous one, but not sure what it be worth. I do have a digital microscope but it wasn't showing up as good
Ya but looks blobby, and some some in God we trust and the 9 has doubling. All the doubling is on the right not up or down like the famous one.
What you have there is the Poor Man's Doubled Die.. Not a true DD I want to share this webpage with you - http://lincolncentresource.com/FAQ/Poormansdoubleddie.html
I'm sorry but I'm going to a movie, my wife told me the penny can wait lol. So I'll post new pictures later. Sorry, ya I heard the poor man's 1955 double die. Just wanted another perspective
Andrew...i havent seen a pic of the poor mans 1955. But i have one that i found also. It has a slight doubling of the 1955 . So i believe its a new error is what i believe. I will get it checked out.
Sorry for the late reply back, but after going through about 50 1955's I at least seen 10 close to it but not as strong.
1955 poor man's double die. Not really a DDO. The coin (s) can be purchased for 50cents to a dollar, though other than personal joy to someone and possibly fun to find it is only just a wheat penny with die deterioration.
The coin is worth a dollar or two as long as there is no damage we can't see. These are very common. It's not a true doubled die.
