United States: 1855-O silver Seated Liberty half dollar, arrows at date PCGS XF40. Cert. #48067405. Numista-14903, Krause-Mishler-82. Mintage: 3,688, 000. Ex-"rlhesq.1968", eBay, 8 February 2026. This coin's darkish appearance may not be to everyone's taste. I, however, actually prefer circulated silver coins XF and under that have this look. I refer to it as the "Circulated Cameo" look, or "CircCam" for short. That term has gained some acceptance in the wider numismatic community. Some collectors call an originally-toned coin like this "crusty". Others might refer to it as "antique patina". Again, it's not for everyone, but I like it very much. Mind you, I do not like monochrome dark coins. There has to be some contrast, with darker fields and lighter devices. That contrast makes the design elements "pop". 025488
I like coins like this also. It has what some people call a "vintage look". I know, we call it toning.
