I was checking through eBay and I saw a new listing that had buy-it-now. I snatched that right up! Ah, so now I have to wait for it in the mail... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3947608592 David
It looked like a great deal I couldn't pass up. I am currently working on a BU Jefferson set. Sadly, it wasn't the last coin. Many more coins to go. Now I need to work on getting a 1939-D and the war nickels. Then the rest of the set should be pretty easy to get. David
Will you include the 94 and 97 matte coins? I have set w/out any proofs or SMS coins but would like to put the whole set together. If so, I'll probably buy the 97 matte first. At 25,000 minted and with all the changes to the nickel, they probably won't be getting any cheaper.
I'm not sure if I'll do the proofs yet. Maybe sometime down the line after this set is completed. So far I have all mintmarks from 1968 to 2004 minus the 82 P&D and 83 P&D. And I have some before 1968 but thats where I need to fill in the holes. David
Thanks for that link. I am wondering what Jefferson market will be with an introduction of a new design after next years commemoratives? David
My 1950-D story is sad/happy. As a kid back in 1969, around the height of the 1950-D craze, I bought a BU from a coin dealer for the now-terrible price of $16, because I couldn't find it to complete my collection. Fast forward to 1991, when at work one day, an AU example of this nickel dropped into my hands in change out of our company's vending machine. I couldn't believe it!
So far what I have is UNC. The bulk of the nickels are from mint sets and a few from rolls. I put them in 2x2 cardboard flips then in plastic pages. David
