To cut or not to cut

  1. The question is would you cut open a 2026 uncirculated mint set just to fill holes in your lincoln cent album?

Depends on how much you want the album to continue. The value of the rest of the mint set would be shot, I would think, but what is the value to you of the album?

I buy two sets every year - one to hold and the other to cut up and use all of the coins to fill albums. I know it may not be the same as hunting to find them all in the wild but this way you always get the dollars and halves that can be next to impossible to find.

That would work for me. I think it's a great idea to buy two...fulfills two needs.

It was a greater idea before the Mint tripled or quadrupled the price, I think.

I don't even venture over there. I like my coins raw and old. Not the stuff out now.

I've cut up many of set, As a set it can diminish the value of individual coins. I say buy a few more folders and fill them with the xtras.
