I'm interested in putting together an "Eclectic Cool Designation Collection". I believe this could help spark the interest in Young and New Collectors. Please keep it affordable for example "Goodacre Dollar", 1955 "Double Die" and 1937-D 3 Legged Buffalo shouldn't be on the list.

    Here's my starting examples:

    1. 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar "Accented Hair" Proof
    2. 1952 Washington Quarter "Superbird" Proof
    3 2004 D Wisconsin Quarter "Extra leaf"
    4. 1999 Susan B Anthony "Wide Rim"
    5. 2005 Minnesota Quarter "Extra Tree"
    6. 2000 Dollar Sacagawea "Wounded Eagle Dollar"
    7. 2005 D Speared Bison Nickel

    Please Follow the Post...

I'll try to Edit the List as the Posts come in...
Also if you have older posts with this discussion let me know.

Why is the Goodacre Dollar not affordable? I paid $10 for the one I bought.

    Here's some suggestions for you:

    1955 50 cent Franklin - Bugs Bunny
2009 Lincoln Cent - Extra Finger

I really think you should consider a cheaper DDO or DDR coin. To see the image or text doubled really is a visual grabber.

1888-O "Hot Lips" Morgan $1. Quite affordable in lower circulated grades.

Where did you get that coin for $10? Judging by the prices I've seen, that was the steal of the 21st Century.

Dealer at a local coin show... He's a general dealer, usually has some nice raw coins and books of 2x2s and mid-tier slabs. The "corner table" guy w/ wife who is a stitch. You know them, you check in with them at every show because they move a lot of volume and always have new stuff?

In this case he had bought a collection of 'stuff' that he knew he could resell and was planning on putting the dreck into his $10 slab box. So when I asked what was new, he showed it to me and I bought it for my slabs collection thinking it was just a cool label.

Once I figured out what I had, I sold it on to another dealer/friend for $310 who sold it on eBay a couple weeks later for IIRC $465.

Ouch, that hurts... maybe in DOG YEARS...

Reminds me of the 1905 $20 Gold I saw, "Owned by a little old lady who only took it to church once a week".
