Hello to all my friends! Today is Monday and a brand-new daily thread. It's "Metal Health Monday!". With all the craziness of the Gold and Silver market, I came up with ingenious idea for a thread. All you have to do is post a coin(s) that are made of metal. Maybe a new acquisition or something that you've been hanging on to for some time. This my 1885O Morgan dollar that I plan on gifting to a cousin in Florida. She's sort of a newbie collector, so I will send her some coins to collect and hopefully cherish them long after I'm gone some day. My wife/son has no interest in these roundish metal objects that we go crazy over day after day. ( Here is the perfect song for all the craziness ). No swearing, just singing it load and proud!
Here's a big lump of metal for Metal Monday. George III (1760-1820) - Crown 1819, LX edge - Mint: London - Obverse: Laureate head right - Reverse: St. George on horseback, rearing left, holding reins and sword, slaying the dragon below right - gr. 28,31 - Lightly cleaned, otherwise extremely fine DAV. 103. Collecting has done wonders for my mental (as well as metal) health over the past 60 plus years. The coin that started it all those years ago after half a century as a pocket piece
