The Collaborative "Virtual 7070" Type Set Project

Good morning, and welcome to February 7th.

We'll now move on to our next type, which is the Liberty Head Nickel No Cents (1883).

I do not currently have one in my primary (slabbed) collection, but here's one I have in my giveaway inventory. I reckon it is one of those "super-slider" coins where I personally can't quite tell if it's an AU58+ or an MS62-63. It's got the luster, anyway.

For once I will spare you the sight of my "holey" example, since it seems I do not have a picture of that.

(Or -1913, if you have one of those to post.)

Here is mine. It has subtle pastel toning which appealed to me.








Here is the example from my “Holey” type set. It’s really not bad for a holed piece.

 

I like the CircCam action on that ‘08, ‘Corgi.

 

It is Monday the 9th, and time for us to do the Buffalo Nickel Type 1 (1913).

Make sure you don’t post a Type 2 Buffalo yet! That’s tomorrow. It is only the 1913 Type 1 coins today.

Here’s the nicest T1 Buffalo I’ve had. It had a @crazyhounddog pedigree. I affectionately called it the “Jolly Green Giant”.

I shouldn’t have sold it. At the time, I think it was part of a misguided purge to limit myself to a “Box of 100”. That didn’t work out, thank goodness.
