Went to a new (to me) coin shop as my main one closed down permanently last month.
The owner was friendly and let me look through a few boxes of stuff.
Most of the stuff was higher end than I usually collect and out of my price range.
But this Prussia thaler was (I presume) priced quite a while ago for $35.
I asked what he wanted for it, and he said I could have it for the listed price.
At 22 g .750 fine I think that's substantially under melt these days.

Wow, that's a great find and for the price too. Congrats.

Handsome coin if I may say so. :)
Being part German, I appreciate it.

I bought this 1788 Austria 1/2 kronenthaler yesterday for $35. It is ex-jewelry with a simple necklace loop on the rim but it’s pretty nice for the price.

It is indeed a cool coin. Vintage loop mount and all.

In a very similar vein, I once had a holed example in my old “holey” coin collection.
