Haven't seen Sal posting many of his "posts of the day" (some of us do miss that Sal) So in honor of my new and happy pickup I'll use this as an excuse to show her off and make you all show me your pretties as well FEs will always be one of my favorite coins 1st.. she has some good eye appeal even if dark. 2nd.. she is a small letter varitiy and I lacked a slabbed SL 3rd.. UNDER $50 for that price i can live with the "detail"

Two most likely explanations are - someone spent grandpa's collection. Or, some collector intentionally put it into circulation to hook a new collector. I've heard about people doing that with lower value coins (usually dateless buffaloes), but even a low grade Flyer would be worth a bit more than I'd like to just throw out into the wild.
