I have this one-dollar bill that I got a long time ago. It appears to be an error but forget the proper name and also can you give me your "personal" opinion on the value? It is about 75% coverage on the front. It also has no folds, tears, wrinkles, etc. Not sure on the grade as it is a raw note. Comments welcome by all.....
I'm sure someone knowledgeable will come along shortly, but if you want to research and see if you can identify it, try here: https://www.scribd.com/document/407630607/United-States-Paper-Money-Errors-pdf Knowing the name/type of error will at least give you search terms for recent sales.
I do have an older currency book.. I think it's the blackbook of currency. I'm still searching.........
Try a google search for insufficient inking. https://www.uscurrencyauctions.com/us-currency-errors-value-price-guide.html
I'm not quite sure how much I paid, maybe $25. What do you think it is worth? I have at CU. Not sure about the number grade. ?? I guess it is called a "Wet offset ink transfer error"? This is for a $10 Front on back. Offset Ink Transfer Green $50.-$75. $125.+?
Sorry for the wrong info on the 1977 $1, I see now that it is an Ink transfer. Green ink on front of note. I do not know what the value may be. I do think it is most likely a more common type of error. My rule of thumb is; The easier it is to see the error the greater value it will have, that goes for coins and currency alike. It took me awhile to figure out that this note is actually a misprint and has some value to it.
