I went through alot of 1964s, always watching out for a type C, now it was easily spotted and can't believe I question so many 64-Ds. Question is how rare are they?
Type c is the 1965 design but was tested on some 1964-Ds. https://www.ngccoin.com/coin-varieties/washington-quarters/1964d-type-c-rev-of-65-25c-2248/
Ya bought these quarters from a women that buys storage unit. 79 Washingtons and 20 libertys with all dates and 6 decent barbers, for 318 a couple weeks back. I have about it have around 200 1964 quarters first one I see it really is easy to spot, I thought no way. This hobby becomes addicting spent 4 to 5 grand the past couple months on silver coins. Wife hates it lol.
Nice find! I will say that (in my experience) they are very, very tough - I've found six so far, compared to the hundreds of Type B quarters I've found. Of course, I would tend to guess that most people who have large hoards of 1964 D quarters (for their silver content) would assume (based on mintage) that they didn't hold any potential added value, and would not think to check them for varieties...so who knows how many there actually are.
Also bought 25 morgan dollars, around 18 a piece, and one was a 1878 8tf. That's why I rather buy silver coins than silver bullions, I have a chance finding cool varietys and lower mintage coins
I found this at a bank of the west. They never have rolls or coin counter. They just have half dollars lose from customers. I bought 30 dollars worth of halfs past couple months and found 4 40%, 2 90% and last week this candain dollar. Idk how they didn't notice it's not even as wide as an United States half lol. I bring them eggs from my chickens, since I don't have an account with them.
My girls just gave me these today. Never thought of trading them for rolls ! 20170302_185304 by stoneman227, on Flickr
