Recent bidding on Great Collections

    I've seen those sellers too and am surprised when some of those coins quickly sell at the eBay price. At one point (8-12 years ago), there were items that went low at GC where it was easy to see why they resold quickly on eBay.

    And I've listed some of my purchases from GC on eBay as well. Some are coins I did not end up liking enough to keep and start them out a little above cost (which is about 15% over the GC price given eBay fees). Others are coins that I am mixed on keeping so the premium over GC starts higher (if it sells, then I have more spending money and if it does not, then it might become a keeper).

    The ones that bother me are those that crack problem coins from GC and sell them as "choice" examples and the ones that enhance the pictures of toners to make them look more vibrant. Those juiced photos can be fairly obvious but somehow it still gets buyers to pay an inflated premium over the GC result.
