Oooh, I like that one. Very interesting toning, I have not seen one like that before.

I have been looking for a nice Type coin with toning for my set similar to your coin, I consider you coin to be: "with DESIGNER INITIALS (1966-2003)."

I recently broke my single Jefferson Type 1 slot into 3 "sub-types".

JEFFERSON, TYPE 1, ORIGINAL DESIGN, REVERSE OF 38 (1938-1939)
JEFFERSON, TYPE 1, ORIGINAL DESIGN, REVERSE OF 40 (1939-1966)
JEFFERSON, TYPE 1, ORIGINAL DESIGN, DESIGNER INITIALS (1966-2003)

I consider this to be similar situation to LINCOLN, TYPE 1, "with VDB" WHEAT REVERSE vs "Without VDB", and since I include that as a type, this one makes sense to breakout as well.

As the resident Jefferson expert I wonder if you would agree with this, or is this too minor?

There are also 2 different VDB reverses for the Philadelphia coin.

Thanks. It is the only one I have. I would like to add a nice clean luster bomb someday. They are beautiful coins. Yours included.

I sold mine years ago, I was attempting to do a toned set of gem grade SLQs and quickly realized that I had bid off more than I could chew. This one was my favorite.

Those SLQs are unbelievably beautiful! I'm too poor for that. :p

I hope I have not posted this coin before but I am bored, it's still off being graded by ANACS. We are at about 90 days Economy rate. I really liked this toning, it's not exactly wallet buster year/mint. I should add I'm generally not a fan of toning unless it's natural rainbow.

@geekpryde . What a great coin. Many years ago I came home one morning from work and discovered JJ Teaparty had just listed 4 Proof Indian head cents for sale. 1874, 1880, 1890, 1894; all in small white ANACS holder, each at $100 dollar. All 4 had electric blue toning. I bought all 4 on the spot.
I spent the next 2 years trying to see if that could be the basis for a great collection but finally gave up. I can't quote specifcs but i sold the 4 of them on Teletrade for over $1,500 dollars. I wonder where those jewels are now. James
