Just found these, and it caught my eye. Look at the first 6 on both of the serial numbers on star note. The 2nd bill is just there as another example. The first 7 is same way. It'll get spent. Just wondering if instances like this are considered print errors?
Not really errors. They occur when something is wrong with the note and they have to replace it. Most star notes do not carry a premium unless there is something remarkable about them. But it is only a dollar. Why not keep it and just wait and see? If nothing else it is a novelty.
Sorry, I guess I was a little wordy. I know what star notes are, I was referring to the first 6's in the SN being over inked. But, I do agree with you, I'm keeping it.
Over inking can occur when the "wiper" blade that passes over the printing cylinder develops a flaw and lets more ink into any given area. The blades are incredibly thin and sharp and must constantly be monitored for problems. Adjustments are of a very precise tolerance so as also not to scrape the printing head itself.
