Just wanted to throw out there if it is a coin 50 or less it belongs in an well known thread. The original thread.
Post your under $50.00 purchase... | Page 249 | Coin Talk
This one is for those coins that you would have never bought last year. Or, the coins that are coming available for around a hundred. Give $15 if it is exceptional.
This is one I bought yesterday, I am giving the 15 on this one.

I'm not much of a Morgan dollar collector but I do like the toning on both sides and the exquisite overall appearance. There are some minor distractions on both the obverse and reverse which seems to be the norm for this series. Correct me if I'm wrong. ;)

Since you said $100 +/- $15, this is the only one in my current US collection that fits that criterion. I have 86 bucks in it.

I chose 1944 for my Merc dime type coin since that was my mother’s birthyear.

    $90 for this one 20260202_081201.jpg 20260202_081248.jpg

Thinking about doing a GTG for this one. She's got a pretty bit of toning, too.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I'm going to play a little loose with the "around $100"... This one shipped was $77. The mirrors don't come across in the GC pics at all, but they are clear in hand.

Did it go for less than expected because of that?

I had absolutely no idea what it would go for. Even with bad pictures, I trust the NGC designation since they've seen it in-hand.

This is only the second time I've seen a 1970S PL Cent for sale (the last one was years ago on Ebay). Nickels are also quite rare. Dimes can be found with patience, quarters are available in 72D, and Kennedy's are quite common. A 1970D Kennedy in 64PL goes for $250 quite regularly... so I assumed the cent (being considerably rarer) would got for considerably more.

Got this one for less than $85 but more than $50 so I'm under the under. And it's another VAM1-C.

So I assume you're looking for recent purchases, and I shouldn't go dredging back through my records for older stuff?

Thanks. It got shipped to PCGS about 30 days ago. It was the last item before I sent them a new batch to grade. It's not worth a whole lot but with the toning and Hot 50 Top Clashes I wanted it graded and attributed. I've got a small collection of that year and VAM going. I believe it will be number 5.

In keeping with the parameters of this thread, full disclosure. I paid $116 for this before shipping, so disqualify it if you must. This was right after I swore off buying everything I liked for a new years resolution. The flesh is weak. I posted in new acquistions but I love soap box holders and I love this coin. It might or might not cross at 64 at PCGS, but it's going to live in it's current tomb as long as I own it.
