No, I just unpacked one of my unopened boxes and found another 100 rounds. I also had 100 Morgan’s in the same box. I must have worked a lot of overtime when I bought them. The coins were less than $20 each and the rounds weren’t expensive either.
Last time I bought any silver from the mint was 2020, except for a 2021 Silver Eagle for my type set...their prices I thought were too high. I have the Merconti coins except for 2 coins...the 2most expensive ones.
Well I was just charged $175 for the 2026 Congratulations Set which contains the ASE Philadelphia Proof.
I bought a couple of ASE proofs back when they were around $25 from the mint. In 2011 I bought 2 of the anniversary sets because I got an email from a coin shop I'd done business with saying they'd pay double the issue price for unopened sets. I had to resist the temptation to open the box, so I never saw them, I sent them the mint box just as it was. So I actually made money with ASEs, having nothing to do with the price of silver! I bought an "uncirculated finish" ASE in 2017, and that's it, haven't bought one since. Come to think of it, If I sold the ones I have, I could make money of those too. Not much though, might as well hang on to them.
I've been buying ASEs (AGEs etc) for a long, long time. I'm not sure I want to pay $175 for a Proof. I may cancel. It's just an amount beyond what I think it's worth, or worth to me.
