Got this at about half of what it would go for if straight graded. It’s a beautiful coin and will look nice in my 7070 type set. I’m guessing it’s been cleaned (or whizzed?). So, does the ‘repaired’ indicate that or is there something else I’m missing?

Nice pick! A whole lot of my "top shelf" coins are problem label coins. When they look that sweet who cares? Usually those repaired coins have had holes plugged, but I sure don't see any evidence of that from your photos.

I can't see anything obvious on your coin. It's a beautiful example nevertheless.

    The rim on the reverse?

Thanks! I love it. Do you agree to it being cleaned or whizzed?

Definitely been cleaned but I f do not see any repairs, like plugging a hole.

If it was a significant repair, it must have been expertly done. I don't see anything blatant. Maybe the stuff that's going on in the field to the left of the date and near the rim?

Despite the problem label, that is a really lovely looking coin, and for half the straight-graded price, I think it was a good bargain. I think it got cheated a little on the details grade, too. That looks AU details to me- and Choice AU at that. Not merely "XF".

Personally, I'm too twitchy about "details" coins to buy something like this. I'm a stickler for straight grades, with only the occasional exception for some of my Ancients. But man, that one sure has a lot of bang for the buck, and I can understand the temptation.

A nice looking coin. As for the repair, we can only guess. Perhaps something on the rim, as in ex-jewelry? Or perhaps the stuff in the field to the right of the design is not just whizzing but some very skillfully polished out scratches or graffiti?

Yes, it's been cleaned but probably not whizzed.
