After only selling for three years it was time to start buying again. I already had this variety in a lower grade but they look great side by side. All the clash marks and and die cracks sucked me in. I bought one other Bust Half but no images as of now. The first coin is the new one.
Oh yes! Lovely! Reminds me a little bit of mine, though mine is five grade points shy of yours and the semi-iridescent toning is not quite as pronounced on mine. Nor do I have the clashmarks or the CAC bean. I don't do Overton varieties. I'm just a Type collector. We're just a year apart here, though.
Nice coin - Does that mean you are keeping both? What is funny about it is my typeset - I actually have duplicates in dates and grades for various coins, but so far I am not selling those.
Duplicates don't bother me at all. There are many in my collection. If I like it and can see it in hand, I'll buy it.
Funny thing is, these are not duplicates. One is an O-108, the new one is an O-108a... they are two different die states. Serious CBH collectors would consider these different enough to keep them both!
True but collecting by Overton is not my thing. Not looking to build a set of anything. Did that for almost 60 years and stopped when my collection reached 8000 coins. Still have about 6000 to sell. Time to move on. When my time comes, I'll only be leaving my family a few hundred coins to deal with.
