Collectors like to complete sets, but in ancient coins most "sets" are too large to come close to completing. But, we can choose our own criterion for what makes a "set" and work on that. Sometimes, three related coins complete a set. I have just posted a website with two such sets of three coins: http://augustuscoins.com/ed/usurpers/Usurpers.html Both are sets of coins issued by usurpers under Diocletian. Here is one of the coins (not the key one): Show us any sets of three (exactly three) coins that somehow seem "complete" with respect to some criterion. (I wonder if this will be a short thread for lack of sets of three?)
It may well turn out to be a short thread. I don't think I have any sets of three. Your page is marvelous to look through however.
what is the criterion for 3 coins making a set for the GENIO type issued by Domitianus..only include the Augusti maybe, because they were also struck for Constantius I and Galerius
Hey @julius, that is what I was thinking about. A natural set of three that is in some sense "complete" when you get the third. Nice work!
