I was fortunate to have dug this half reale yesterday. However, despite ID'ing and dating many coins, this one is beyond me. I believe it's a King Phillip variety, but that's where my confidence ends. Could someone please help me ID the time frame in which it may have originated. Any other added details would be great as well. Thanks in advance!!

That one is pretty worn but the obverse looks strikingly similar to mine. And Daniel Sedwick put a date range on mine of 1711-1727.

Very similar! How did you go about getting in touch with him? Was that a courtesy consult or paid?

No, I just went to the mans website and emailed him. He replied back the next day just as nice as could be. He is the bible on these old cobbs. I will PM his email address to you.
