Yes i know these are poor pics. I can’t get any better with my phone. Is there anyone in this chat that can help me determine if this a DDO?
I found the pictures in this thread. You did a double post. It would be easier to see if not for the plastic in the flip. In one of the photos the 9 in the date looks like it may be doubled but it is quite worn. If all you have is your cell phone camera try holding the phone about 5 inches away from the coin. Take the photo and then crop it. That’s what I do and I get decent results.
There are 2 varieties listed at Wexler: 1 obverse, 1 reverse. I see no doubling on the obverse and no reverse was posted. Honestly, there is just too much wear for any doubling to have survived, nor the die markers. All the features on the obverse posted pics are flattened from excessive wear…Spark
Thanks. I bought a roll of 1917 LWCs and this was in it. A fine surprise snatched up for pennies on the dollar.
So the opinion of the OP's coin is that it is too worn and out of focus to see if the is doubling? I, personally, can't see any evidence of doubling due to the wear on the coin.
The coin is way to mushy and worn to make a determination from blurry photos. Not trying to pick on ya Pratt the flip has got to go for errors, pretty coins, varieties, it hinders our ability to see the details of the coin.
