It is actually a 1923. There is a red eagle on the reverse. It is one of the coins I brought to the event at the hotel.
Looks like a ‘28 but since it’s a 1923 it’s a common date. If it’s red on the reverse that’s just damage.
The eagle is red. That is why I took it to the event. It was part of a lot I bought. 3 were nice, two were damaged. I got a bunch of Indian heads too. I think I will sell it as silver.
I'm going with my first statement, contact mark. If you think that it's something else, then take better Pics of just the date please.
Become a Supporter. Then it's bye-bye, ads! I love this site, but I couldn't stand it with all those ads. They're terrible. Every time I visit while logged out, I see how bad it is. And it is really bad. @Peter T Davis - can anything be done to lessen the amount of popup ads? They're often really sketchy ads, too. I feel y'all's pain. (Or I would, if I wasn't a Supporter and thereby immune to the ads.)
In answer to the question, I do not see anything unusual about the date on that Peace dollar. I fixed your image by cropping the dead space out of it and posting it directly, instead of a link as you had it. Oh- and I've merged the two duplicate threads into one.
Yes. As many of you know, I'm on a fixed income and it's sad to say how much. Les that a McDonald's worker. When thing improve, if they do, I'll become a supporter because I too love this site. Thanks all for listening.
