Theses are from WWII, 1944-1945. They were given back in trade when items were rationed for the war effort. They had red and blue points. Red was used for meats and fats while the blue was for canned goods. You would use your ration coupons and these were used to make the trade more equal in price. Both sides are the same, completely identical. They are only almost the size of a dime and are made of a paper resin. Only 1 point is on the tokens. There are 2 letters on each side of the 1. It is unknown what these letters are for but some of them are considered quite rare. I have 56 of these tokens and I have 25 different letters on the tokens.
They we’d used in the USA. A number of items were rationed. You needed a ration coupon to buy them. You couldn’t buy hamburger meat without a ration coupon. These Tokens were given out to make change for your purchase and the coupon value.
