Randy and I will be hitting the highway for the FUN show soon. Here’s the thing. I’ve already bought a very nice coin from him which is likely destined to be the prize for this contest. So he has contributed. (Fact is, he tried to give me the coin, but I can’t let him do that- I’ll pay him something for it.) This coin is worth considerably more than $50, which is why I say it is likely to be declared the prize in this contest. But I still intend to do some shopping for giveaway goodies while at the show. I’ll offer a selection and let the winner of the drawing pick the item they most want.
Here’s my thread about the show and our trip. Here is the coin I got from Randy for this giveaway. It is likely to be better than anything I’ll find at the show for <$50, but we shall see. I believe this is a $75-ish coin. I love the CircCam contrast on it. Had it been in PCGS plastic and/or a tiny bit higher grade, I’d have grabbed it for my own collection!
Gentlemen, Travel well and travel safe. I'll assume that Randy's steak dinner will not be at Golden Corral.
I cannot, will not, give your post a 'Like'. I know Randy has disguised his trip to Delmonicos as a faux trip to FUN. So no, I won't thumbs up that post. We're all rooting for you tomorrow night, Randy!!! Ok, you too, Rob!
I'll go with coolest world coin under the target dollar amount. Thanks for the contest and the report!
More people on Collectors Universe requested a Seated coin, so I think I’ll give that Seated half away over there. Since there were more token requests over here, this is what I’ll do. I’ll make the prize here be …. A cool 1863 “IOU” token (mislabeled as a “Hard Time(s)” token but I reckon it’s a Civil War token) A lusterbomb 1999 MS66 RD off-center cent in an old ANACS soapbar holder, and A prooflike 2026 FUN show medal. And if the winner doesn’t like that trio, they may choose something from my regular giveaway inventory instead. We’ll keep the giveaway open until February 1st and then do the drawing.
