Here ‘tis. Still not great, and I had to reduce the quality to be able to upload it here, but it gives you a little better idea than a still photo. You can see the cartwheel effect, even if I didn’t capture the PL qualities ideally.
@lordmarcovan thank you for the enjoyable thread! ...I would also say to keep looking in terms of the gold trade; most common dates up to MS 64 are basically melt or under nowadays so some other dealer might be willing to do a trade for less than $150 (maybe $50-$100). @Randy Abercrombie nice PL Half and congrats on getting the 20c! Did you decide on trading in that gold coin you were asking about in a thread recently?
I think he sold off all his castoffs in one place, to one dealer he knows. Except the two Seated CircCam coins I snagged from his stash (both mentioned in Post #3 of this thread- and one of which I’ll be giving away).
I'm so glad you guys are having a "ball"! Remember, you still have to return home to reality. Home, animals, bills and wives....
I don’t mind the home, animals, and wife part so much (she handles the bills). But it’s nice to have a coin geek getaway once a year.
I hear you. Just joking. I love the wife and animals just fine and dandy. I need time away to metal detect again. Maybe a club hunt. Trying to join one near me soon.
I have never gone to a show looking for one certain coin, I get to a place like that and I am a child in a candy store. How long is the stay, at FUN.
Lamp situation has been resolved. I swiped one from a dealer that left. It's a little awkward compared to my gooseneck lamps, but it's working.
January 10, 2026 Orlando, Florida Day 2 of the show (for us) I was up by 6:30 AM, even before Randy, who is usually up around 4:30 AM in his regular working life. And I had gone to sleep around midnight, long after he’d zonked out. Urgh. I’m awake but not yet alive. I overindulged on the Caribbean Jerk Shrimp Pasta last night, and while it was delicious, it did not agree with me. It’s the meds I’m on. Thankfully my wise spouse advised me to bring some Imodium along. I might skip breakfast. But that’s TMI. Y’all want to see more coins, not read about my gastrointestinal woes. And that’ll happen. (More coins, that is- hopefully not more gastrointestinal woes.)
No, the Gallery Mint’s coin presses, I’m told, where they are reportedly striking free tokens. I’ll have to go back and check that out today.
