Here I am at the FIN show. I can only afford to buy one of the two:

    1875-CC AU55 $20

    or

    1787 MS62BN Fugio 8-B

the gold is slightly more at $5500, and the Fugio is $5000

    help me here, folks!

A nice quandary to be in!

Myself, I would be all over the Fugio.

You can’t go wrong with either one. I’d take the gold but that’s because I have a Fugio. :)

What did the CC 20$ cost a year ago?

My thoughts the same as P&G... much of the value of the CC $20 is in the gold price and as variable.. but easier to resell later.. the Fugio on the other hand would be harder to sell but more likely to retain it's value over time.

Having no pictures and just going off what I think is cooler, I would pick the Fugio.

SHHHHH, don't tell my wife, but I have both. Either one is going grow in value, good luck with your decision and congrats!

The Fugio Cent is more interesting. Oddly enough, I have never been fascinated by the Carson City Mint. I don’t know why.

Well, it appears the consensus is the Fugio…….you know, they’re a bit of them off the floor, and I think I’m losing my eyesight squinting at them, most being BN! I believe the 8-B varietal being pretty common and cheapest might be the one.

If you are buying to make money I would go with the double eagle only because gold is rising like a batch of new bread dough. If you are buying to enjoy, absolutely the Fugio.

Ergo, the quandry I am in. I decided to go the enjoyment route, since in half a century of collecting, I have never sold a coin. Somewhat speaks for itself, I guess.
Well, off to the show, we shall see if it’s still there!

I'd take the Fugio. I love colonials so it's an easy choice for me. Years ago I had an extensive collection of colonials but I don't remember if I had a Fugio,...I think I did though.
