LordM 2026 FUN show report (live updates from the floor)

@Randy Abercrombie and I are about to set out on our epic road trip to Orlando, Florida, for the 2026 FUN show.

Just like I did last year, I will take y’all along with us for the journey and post lots of pictures from the bourse floor of the show (as long as- heaven forbid- my phone doesn’t die).

As we get ready to leave, it is cool and foggy here at Randy’s hotel (which is my workplace).

The azaleas are already starting to bloom!

 

Not at the show yet, and I’ve already acquired two coins! Randy had these two nice Seated CircCams in his selloff pile.

I’m keeping the quarter for my own collection. The half is destined to be the prize for my Giveaway #137, unless I find something even more appealing at the show.

 

We’re in Florida now!

 

Nah, but I cracked open a can of Vienna sausages for breakfast. Guilty pleasure. I know they’re disgusting, but I like ‘em anyway.

 

Goals for the show? Hmm. Let’s see…

@Randy Abercrombie wants to find a nice 20c piece. I wouldn’t mind that myself.

My primary goal is to submit some of the ancients I have to NGC. More on that later, perhaps.

High on my list is to find a decent coin of Cleopatra, or Cleopatra and Mark Antony.

Of course I intend to pick up some fun <$50 items for my stash of giveaway goodies.

I also wouldn’t mind upgrading my $20 Lib from an MS62 to an MS63 or MS64, if the upgrade costs after trade-in are acceptable. Preferably an 1800s date. But if upgrading proves too expensive, I’m OK just keeping this one.

 

I do not like these photos, so I want to get @messydesk to reshoot these two coins from my collection, at the show.

Day 1 of the show (for us)

Here we are, though not quite to our hotel or the show yet.

Had to turn on the AC- dressed a bit too warmly for Florida. Time to change into short sleeves!

 

We’re almost there. He sez he’ll give you 20 bux for it, sight-unseen!

 

Compared to the much smaller town I’m from, it’s bad, but we didn’t hit any gridlock on the way in, at least.
