Yep, here we are again. Although this time a kid in Kentucky who knew what to look for found it in circulation in change. Can you believe that ? Not my story to tell but here are the facts : PCGS cert link YouTube video This is not me. Just posting for prosperity.
I find it hard to believe that someone would send ANY coin the "Rick Finds Treasures" to see if they have a rarity. I also find it hard to believe that anyone would watch every minute of Rick's diagnosis/handling of the coin/situation. It's stuff like this on the internet that makes junior or novice collectors think that they HAVE TO send their coins into a TPG for it to be in their collection. And who is this guy with the personalized bandana, including one on the wall.
You would have to do an XRF to see if it is a zinc cent on a heavy planchet. And then if it is copper, you have to find out if it was created by spark erosion like the famous 1959 wheat back. Now back to the video. PCGS says it is real, but where are the results of the XRF scan? Was this coin sold for $30,000 after authentication, or was that a diff one? How many bronze 1983 cents are there, I thought they were worth more. Although now the population has increased by 1.
You know what? I think will be my last post here. Always the Nay Sayers. Even when you jump through the hoops laid out, still, " Where's the proof?" "Fake !". DYOD You wonder why young people wont come to the hobby, but you run us off ! Not one one of you said " Nice find." " Good on a youth in the hobby." Who wants to be around a bunch of non supportive, who are most likely so cause they didn't find it. DUECES
I checked online I think it is the real deal. Also I mispoke about the spark erosion as I think that is when you put 2 different halves of coins together.
It wasn’t- you posted again with an obscenity. I have removed that post. Post any more profanities, and I guarantee you it WILL be your last post here.
