I'll throw my chance in for the Boy Scout. I still have my Cub Scout uniform. Doesn't quite fit though...77 years later. That should get a smile out of someone.
Post entry, that's a nice looking Jefferson. This one was with the set I sold last year. Still regret it. Mike.
Received my day 7 prize today!! Very happy with the nice Christmas card and the coin that came with my win. bust halves are my favorite coin - and I have the tattoo on my left shoulder to prove it. images below of the card and coin Evan
It is time for the Round 10 drawing. Our lucky number was... 341. And Post #341 was by... @No_Ragrets ... on behalf of @Jersey magic man ! OK, folks, this is just plain spooky. My Giveaway #134 was ALSO just won by @No_Ragrets ... on behalf of @Jersey magic man! Freaky coincidence! It seems @No_Ragrets wasn't lying when he said he has the Midas Touch! Wow. That luck has certainly rubbed off on @Jersey magic man lately! But the Random Number Generator gods have spoken, and there you have it. COINgratulations, @Jersey magic man! Again! And kudos to you for your thoughtfulness, @No_Ragrets... again! @BuffaloHunter is going to need your shipping address. I shall message y'all shortly. Please don't forget to post a receipt in this thread later, after you have received the prize, so we'll all know you got it. And of course @No_Ragrets deserves much thanks for using his lucky touch to win on your behalf... twice on the same day! PS- no, wait... @No_Ragrets has now won on behalf of @Jersey magic man THREE times in a month! I just remembered the winning streak began in Round 3 of this contest! That is just too freaky. But there it is- sheer random chance. Wow. You should buy a Powerball ticket, @No_Ragrets! Round summary in Post #1.
So now we come to the penultimate round in this contest. I like that fancy word: "penultimate". (It means the second-to-last.) In other words, it is time for Round 11. @BuffaloHunter gave to thee... A 1943 steel Lincoln cent, NGC certified MS65 Possibly another "mystery trinket" or two, if he chooses Here are the NGC photos: To enter this round, all you need to do is: 1. Say that you want this lot, and 2. post something else coin-related or cheerful. Then, sometime in the next 2-4 days (depending on my schedule), we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round. You may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person. Round summary in Post #1.
Sign me up. That is a great prize. A little pre-emptive but here is a pic of my newest coin; which gives ar least me great cheer. James
I'm in. I already got the Meineke touch. I don't have one of these graded, . (Hopefully someone will pick me for another chance,
I'll put in for a chance at this one. It is so much nicer than the ones that I have collected from the magnets on coin sorting machines I service. Thank you @BuffaloHunter for the prize and all who have contributed to this wonderful contest.
Looks like I swooped in a little too late for Round 10, but for this post I'll return the favor of nomination to @samclemens3991.
I've had trouble getting on the forum over the last couple of days - have there been problems or is it just me? I would like to enter please, I'd love a steely. I like the word "antepenultimate", which was the round before.
I'm in on this one. Thank you, @BuffaloHunter for your generosity. That would be, by far, the best condition steelie I'd possess, should my post be the lucky one drawn. Thank you, @lordmarcovan, also for your generosity, but in this case your time, effort and leadership. And finally, thank you, @Peter T Davis for renewing the site certificate, whatever that means, and providing the venue for this bunch of numismatic misfits (present company included) to congregate.
Post entry, nice Steelie Dan, better than the three I have. What a nice decision to extend past the holidays. Makes the weather up here in Wisconsin a bit more bearable. Regards.
Please count me in on this round too. Pic below of one of those pre-made steel cent sets I acquired sometime over the last 40 years. I only recently learned that these were usually replated!!
@dano. I feel your pain. I bought a roll of steel lincoln cents when i was a kid in the 70's; only to learn they were all replated and considered of little value. It was a pretty exciting day and a half though. Ignorance can indeed be bliss. james
