    Centsearcher My best roll find....

I'm probably going to put a few rolls away and wait 20 or 30 years for them to gain value and outpace inflation. Maybe then they'll be worth a pretty penny:rolleyes:, especially if the design changes in 2009.

Had an unusual box of halves last night.

In addition to the twelve 40% silver coins inside (1-'67, 7-'68s, and 4-69s) there were four proofs.

All were 2005-S, 1 clad and 3 silver.

I've searched a lot of halves over the years and until last night I'd only ever found one silver proof. Then I get three in one box, two of them in the same roll. Someone must have really needed some cash.....

alright so yesterday I did 50$ in cents and 30 in nickels

I found 40 wheat heads, and a couple of 1971 s's. one is in au 50, one is in vf 20 the other is in vg 8. I have no idea if any of those are a level 7. In the nickels I found 15 before 1960's and a 1945 P wartime nickel vg 8.
    I'm getting more today!

It took me a while, but I finished a box of halves. Out of one thousand coins, I found 2 silver clad, one slightly interesting struck-through-grease, and the one coin that I needed to complete my circulated Kennedy collection (a 1998-P. I can’t believe it took me so long to find it.)

WHat is special about a '71-s???

I always heard that i should save them. I found one, and saved it, but i have no idea why it's special

Most people save anything San Francisco.
And there is a double die for that year.

I finally found my first 2007D this week.

I also found 2 1966 Kennedies (same roll) that have me wondering if they are Special Mint Set coins. I'm assuming that they are not as just about every proof I've found, there was no question that it was a proof. I'm going to give them an Acetone Rinse as there are quite a few fingerprints on them. After that, I'll look at them under the stereoscope for evidence of polishing. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to do to discern if they are SMS's or not.

I forgot to mention that I'm jealous of the silver 2005S's. I have yet to find a silver prestige Set Proof.

That was a lucky pull. Very lucky. I doubt I'll find 3 silver proofs in a box ever again.

My success with boxes from that particular bank branch has been extremely spotty for the last 6 months. Now I've gotten two boxes from them within less than a 2 week period that were really decent. I picked up another today. We'll see.....

Are you getting CWI boxes, or something else?

    Searched $10 of nickels today:

    1953D
    1955D
    1958D

Filled 4 slots in my albums, only lack 3 for a complete set from 1959-present.

Not recent - but a few years ago, I found a circulated 1892 Columbian Commemorative and a 1944 Liberty half in a roll from a California Bank.

More recently - received a proof half and nickel in change from the local Post Exchange. They let me look for the rest of the set, but was gone already....

Not sure what a CWI box is.

Mine are all brought up from Salt Lake City by Loomis Fargo whenever the bank orders them.

I bought 47 rolls of sealed pennies today, I haven't finished with them yet, but so far I found 6 wheats (one 1928) and 2 Canadian pennies that I always keep for some reason. No errors yet though. :(

I have to chuckle at that comment. As a kid, I grew up in Minnesota and got lots of Canadian pennies and my dad would go fishing up there and bring back pennies and not I'm getting them in rolls. I have so many that I actually was looking on e-bay for a cheap folder for them. LOL. The folder will be worth more than the coins!!!

I think it's a disorder. We keep the coins everyone else tries to pass off.

CWI is a very, very, very large coin wrapping company. The inspection stamp will actually contain the letters CWI. If your boxes are CWI, there is no such thing as a streak as they box so many halves that it's unlikely to ever get boxes in the order they were packed.

    On a lighter note,

While picking up halves this week, my son (who is now obsessed with checking change returns on vending machines and reject slots on change counters because he finds so much)

my son found in the reject slot of a coin counter at the back a canadian dime and a 1920 Wheat Cent. While the cent had obviously been cleaned at some point, it still had quite a bit of detail. He was very pleased.
