That "ear" between 7:00 and 8:00 on the first photo looks like the attachment point for an electrical box punch-out. Have you checked it with a magnet?

At those dimensions and weight, it might be a nickel that's had a lot of its actual nickel metal eaten away by acid. But my first guess is that it never was a coin of any sort.

Not magnetic. I thought punch out too. I'm leaning toward the acid eating a nickel possibility.

I vote punch out as well. I have one that for a long time thought it might be a cent blank, but it's only slightly larger than a Fiji 1c. Yours also appears to be rounded on one side and more squared off on the other like mine, but it's hard to tell from the images.

I have something close, definitely steel magnetic, ever so slightly larger than a nickel and a little heavier.
In much better condition As found in some random world coins... possibly a blank of a world coin.
    Nickel for reference. IMG_20251231_114644059_HDR.jpg IMG_20251231_114701889_HDR.jpg

There are aluminum electrical boxes but if aluminum it should weigh about 1.52 grams.

It could be non-magnetic SS as there are SS electrical boxes.
